Before The Session
How much do you charge for a photography session?
- We charge $75 for a one hour session in our studio or your location in Austin.
What is NOT included in the session?
Prints, products, or digital images. Print packages and many other prints and products available.
Can we meet you before our session?
Absolutely! Our work is based on the relationship we have with you. Getting to know you will create a better connection and if we’re all comfortable together, that will show in your photos. We can meet you in person or on Skype or FaceTime or Facebook.
Do you photograph parties and events?”
Yes we do parties.
What if I only need a headshot?
We offer headshot sessions, which are up to 60 minutes for $75. They usually take about 15 minutes.

Do you photograph weddings?
I do not offer wedding photography. Your wedding is a spectacular day and requires a photographer who is specialized in that. I know many amazing wedding photographers in Austin and if you are looking for a referral please feel free to contact me.
How can I reserve a date for a photo session?
A paid deposit will reserve your date and can be made through our Book Now page.
If I cancel the session, is my deposit refundable?
Your deposit is non-refundable, however if you contact me more than 24 hours before your session, I will gladly reschedule your session.
Should I go to a hair stylist prior to my photo session?
Yes of course. If you’re getting a new hair style, I suggest to wait at least three weeks to be sure you really like the hair style. You can go to the hair stylist the day of your shoot or I can recommend a stylist to be ready when you show up for your shoot.
Is there an additional charge to pay by credit or debit card?
No, we don’t believe it’s fair to charge our clients extra for standard business costs. We accept payment via PayPal, CashApp, Venmo, or Apple Pay.
How do you describe your style?
RJ sees it as his duty to make sure you have fun on the shoot. That will translate into great photos of you “lit up” where you really shine.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes I do. They make a great gift for your friends or loved ones.
During The Session
What should I wear for my session?
You should wear something that you feel good in most importantly. It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. We always suggest layers and textures. In group photos, color coordinating is always more pleasing to the eye. Feel free to bring a change of clothing.
What if we need more time during our shoot?
In the event that you want to extend the time of our session, overtime is available at $75 per 30 minutes and can be paid at the end of the session via check, cash or credit/debit card.
After The Session
Do you offer prints?
Yes, we have a professional lab that prints your photos on quality paper, metal or canvas. You can pick them up or have them delivered anywhere in the world.
Will I receive copies of the digital files from my shoot?
You can buy fully-processed JPEGs of your photos for $10 each plus tax and that includes a release form so you can print them.
How long will it take to receive my prints?
Once your order is placed, your prints will arrive within 2 weeks.
What rights do I have to the digital prints?
You can reprint images whenever you want, wherever you want. However you may not sell your images for a profit or publish your images without the written consent of PicsInTheMix.
Do you shoot in JPEG or Raw format?
We always shoot in RAW as those images have a lot more flexibility when editing. For more information on this topic, please read this article on Digital Photography School.
What kind of equipment do you use?
RJ has been a Canon shooter since 1983. We use various types of professional lighting and Adobe Lightroom software for editing.
Does your studio provide videography services?
We do not provide video production services at this time.
